The best web cartoon ever. The name ongezellig (not gezellig) comes from dutch word said to be untranslatable to english or other languages, and it means something like cozy, sociable, pleasant, etc.
{ The following is all I can remember and describe about it without looking for information }
{ Now reflecting back on it it actually made me want to learn another language, which was something I was very adverse to before. Obviously my second language is english but it's very common to learn it anyway so it doesn't count }
About the author: It was created originally by a dutch man born in 21 march 1994, nicknamed studio massa (real name Sam Tollenaar). He has ADHD, consoomes rule34 and also did other things like play in a band. He clearly was inspired by things like caramel dansen, MLP, watamote, strange hill high, etc. He choosed the path of art instead of economy o algo and then went to some university to study art o algo and as final project he made a fun animation about history with some girl, a restaurant owner or waitress that goes to ancient mexico to get a heart o algo from the mexicas { all they know about here is violence :D }. At some point he was suicidal o algo. He has a youtube channel where he uploads stuff about history and has admitted that he gets more money from history videos. He supposedly works for companies. He and some family members were doxxed on kiwifarms. He's probably rich.
Ongezellig stars our three favorite girls, the Schoppenboer: Mymy, Maya and Coco.
Appearance: Short and skinny, has flat ass and tits. She has blue eyes. Her skin is weird like orange and has freckles in his face. Her clothes with her hair color clearly look like the ancient Netherlands flag. She wears a white shirt, an orange necktie, a blue skirt and white and orange boots.
3 march
Mymy is a megalomaniac Japanese girl, originally from Nagasaki that preferred to live in the Netherlands. She is adopted. She feels the desire to have a lot of power and control everything. She despises Japan and anything Japanese and Belgian and loves everything Dutch. Her favorite color is orange, the same color as the country or the color of the original flag before being faded to red o algo. Her favorite sport is korfball. She has a biological sister that is looking for her and went to the Netherlands for it.
Appearance: Average height, has medium-sized tits and ass, black hair (though if it was washed correctly it would be brown) and tanned skin. She has green eyes and dark circles around them. She wears a hoody, black pants and red tennis.
21 september
Maya is a failure, loser "femcel" girl. She is the only biological sister. She suffers from Autism Denial Disorder and social anxiety, and is also probably autistic. She supposedly is from brabant or indonesian o algo. Her favorite color is red. She spends all day in her computer. Maya hates Coco as the later is always better at everything than her. She's so dumb that she can't write anything.
Appearance: Tall, has an athletic build, with nice tits, legs and ass. Fair skinned and blonde with brown eyes. She wears a yellow sweater, a white necklace, a beige skirt and beige leggings and yellow boots.
16 december
Coco, like Mymy is adopted. She is from south africa, a country that was colonized by the Netherlands. Her parents died when she was young in a car accident and they put her on adoption on the netherlands who knows how. Her favorite color is yellow. Her favorite sport is rugby. She is very kind and tries to help maya, though she can get mad if triggered about her trauma.
The following are characters that are not as important or appear very little on the series.
Appearance: Tall, purple hair, white skin.
She is the teacher. She is a fan of Nirvana and when she was young she wanted to become a rockstar but failed o algo. She likes lollipops. She is usually angry or melancholic probably from depression.

Deel 1 + 2:
It starts with Maya watching hentai in her computer while eating chips and sucking her hand. A few moments later Coco enters Maya's room without knocking and without permission, greeting her. Maya quickly closes the program's window to prevent Coco from seeing the nasty things that she was enjoying. She gets mad and asks Coco if she didn't see the big sign with forbidden access to anyone especially Coco. She's sorry o algo. The chips in Maya's computer desk is a brand from Netherlands. Coco asks Maya what she's doing, to which Maya responds that she's appreciating a landscape or art. Coco says that she loves that and she likes the ones from some ancient painter, and she asks Maya which is her favorite, to which she answers Hitler. Clearly that was a very bad response but Maya was pressured and feeling anxiety. Coco is like wtf but just ignores that and she asks Maya if she can help her with the presentation for tomorrow since Maya spends a lot of time on her computer. Maya gets scared and says to Coco that she can do it in her computer. Coco says that she tried but couldn't. Maya asks if she restarted the computer, then appears a scene with Coco throwing the computer to the ceiling. So then Coco asks Maya if she wants to do the presentation with her and she gets scared and runs.
Maya gets trapped in the sign with laces she made outside of the door. She says that she's stuck and has tried hard to change but it's useless. Then says that it's not only metaphorically but literally. She looks at photos of her and Coco, and then to one of her drawings, her ideal place to live, an island alienated from everyone and everything, where she imagines living there for a moment and then comes Mymy to bother her, saying that she's a belgian scum o algo and says a bunch of things about history, then Maya says if she will colonize her virgin islands. Mymy imagines that lewd situation and apparently annoyed asks Maya what is she thinking. Later on Mymy explains that tomorrow will be the most amazing day of her life because she will be become class representative in the presentation day and she will dominate over the untermensch o algo. A scene after shows that Coco uses Maya's computer without permission and tries to make her presentation. He goes to google and since she knows nothing about how to use computers she presses random keys and accidentally hacks the website of the AIVD, which is like the CIA of the Netherlands. Then she tries to figure out how to escape and finds in the browser's options the history tab (geschiedenis), thinking that there she will find information about history of the world, not realizing that it's the browser's history, where she finds stuff that Maya goons to.
It's the presentation day. The girls get prepared for it, except one of course. Mymy finishes her presentation and Vera says that that was just a list of reasons for why she should become class representative, and she doesn't approve her presentation and will have to repeat. Mymy takes out his nerf gun, gets angry and she threatens Vera and everyone saying that this is the moment, she will do a holocaust o algo, to which Vera responds that this is not america. Mymy then stands on Vera's desk and points to her and say that she will do it and then shoots the gun, which obviously does nothing and the bullet just glances off of Vera's head. Then Vera takes her bottle and punches Mymy with it in the head, which makes her fall and appears a dramatic scene. Vera says that she has to go to her office. Mymy annoyed sits where she was and then Vera says that next one is Maya. Maya gets surprised and scared as she didn't remember it and she didn't do the presentation. Maya asks if she had a presentation and Vera answers that everyone has one. Maya says that she didn't have anyone to remember her, which actually was a lie and Vera says that she has to go to her office. The next one is Coco. She starts greeting everyone and says that her presentation is about the history of love in Japan, that it was actually common there to have relationships with tentacles o algo. While Coco is talking everyone gets weird and wonders what she is talking about. Vera also gets like wtf. Then Coco proceeds to put a video, which was clearly a hentai scene even though it wasn't shown. Then the three girls are on Vera's office. Coco asks what she did wrong.
Deel 3:
Appears the girl with colorful hair with a letter saying that Coco did nothing wrong outside the office with the door closed. Inside the office are the three girls with Vera because they did bad presentations. Vera asks them if they are mongoloids, to which Coco responds that she is not mongolic but from south africa, Maya from Belgium though she's incorrect as Maya says that it's Brabant and Mymy from Jap, -sterdam, actually Mymy comes from Japsterdam, she interrupts Coco. Vera asks where is Japsterdam. Mymy says that in Drenthe. Vera says that in her dossier it says it's nagasaki. Mymy says that that's just Drents for Drenthe. Vera puts an audio translation in Japanese and Mymy gets angry and starts swearing in Japanese. Vera starts talking about the retakes and she says that it will make it easy, not because she finds them likeable but because she finds them dumb and it will be at 5:00 friday. Then Mymy says that she will be sick o algo. Vera then changes it to thursday, then Mymy says that she will have AIDS o algo, then Vera changes it to wednesday, Coco notices that, then Mymy says that she will be dead, then changes it to tuesday, Coco throws a paper ball to Mymy, Maya also tries to say that she comes from Brabant, Vera doesn't listen and says that she wants it today at 5:00 in mediatheek. Then appears a scene where Maya gets angry and then appears with his "friends" in her imagination, mocking Mymy and laughing, then appears a notification in her phone and it's Coco. Then appears the place where Maya actually is which is the bathroom. At the end of the episode after the credits appears all the characters outside and Coco gets a message from Maya saying that she is with her friends, which Coco questions as she knows that she doesn't have friends.
Deel 4:
There are other classmates outside in bicycles, one of them the girl with colorful hair with a sign saying succes Coco and then appears Coco outside the window of the building greeting them, then appears Mymy inside searching for something about Drenthe and finds an empty paper between some books with the ordererd in netherlands flag and gets angry who knows why. Then appears Maya bothered by doing the presentation, she doesn't know what to write and doesn't want to do anything and can't concentrate. Then appears Coco to bother her as always and she says if she can ask her something. Maya then remembers all the things that Coco asks her that incommode her, then says what and then Coco says something and Maya says that she has parkinson. Coco says that she just wants to help her as the presentations have to be done in 2 hours, especially now with her parkinson. Mymy appears behind Coco and then checks Maya and says that she doesn't have parkinson and she is a healthy autist. Maya says that she isn't autistic, she has ADD. Coco asks what that stands for, Maya sayas that it's english for and then Mymy interrupts her saying that it's Autism Denial Disorder. Maya says that it's Attention Deficit Disorder and she has trouble concetrating. Coco asks if that's curable and then Mymy mocks Maya saying that it's in a concentration camp o algo. Coco makes the hair of Mymy go down and asks Maya what they can do to help her, to which Maya just wants them to go and leave her alone. The two appear then where they were before and start working on the presentation. Maya wonders what wants Coco, if there's something and why she always tries to involve her with everything, also asks if it's because she finds it leuk but says that that's impossible. Then looks at the monitor and says that she will be able to do it, then 1 hour and a half pass and Mymy is playing some game in the browser with some history ads o algo, then remembers the presentation and she hasn't done anything, 1 minute passes and there are only 29 minutes left. She gets very worried and asks the other girls for help.
Deel 5:
Coco asks what was the presentation about and Maya says that belgium. Mymy says that leaves it to her. Then Coco reads Mymy's presentation and says that it was racist, Mymy says that Belgians are not a race. Then Coco says that it would be better to check a more reliable source and reads a book and says several things about belgium history like trade and paintings and something that isn't said maybe it was censored and Mymy says that they can have that one. So Coco says that she herself will write something about the paintings, Maya will write about the trade and Mymy will make the animations between the diapositives. Mymy complains that animations take very long and Coco throws a paper ball to the other side of the room and magically reaches Mymy and she stops complaining. Then Coco says that Maya can do it. Maya in his head says that she can do it in under 30 minutes, then Mymy asks Maya where she sits in recess o algo, then Coco gets annoyed because it's distracting Maya. Coco says that Maya sits with her friends. Then Mymy asks who are her friends, then asks why her bed creeks at night. Coco is clearly annoyed by Mymy and then Maya gets annoyed and says that she can't concentrate here after all so she's out. But then Coco encourages Maya to not go out and touches Maya and she gets up off the chair a bit scared because she's autistic and hates being touched o algo, Mymy asks why she is standing. Maya says something about being bothered o algo and asks why they want to help her, Mymy also asks are they helping her as well and Coco says that they find her leuk and also they don't want her to feel alone o algo because she knows that Maya doesn't have any friends, which hurts Maya internally and says that it's better to have no friends than no parents. Coco gets triggered and takes Maya outside the window, she is hanging her by the laces that are in her hoodie, clearly threatening her with throwing. Maya gets scared and is sorry. Then Coco puts her inside and there's an awkward silence and Maya runs. Mymy doesn't react to anything since she's a reckless psychopath o algo and says that on the bright side the animations are done.
Deel 6 (slot):
Maya says that this is how it ends. She is at the roof of the building contemplating the far away floor saying that there's no happy end for her o algo while her "friends" are at the sides. Then Maya says that she will say the last words and she's thinking and doesn't say anything. Then she says that she is losing her balance to get attention o algo and then her "friend" says that she is cringe. Then Maya appears in the bathroom, where she actually is instead of the building, it was her imagination. She gets down of the toilet and sits and then intrusive thoughts appear o algo of Coco of how she always is better and more friendly and more successful than her. Then Maya asks Coco in her imagination in the island what her problem is o algo and then insults her and then kicks her, and says that get the tyfus which is a very hard insult in Netherlands as insults involving sicknesses are very bad for some reason. Maya says that she doesn't need any friends, that's an extrovert trait and she is good alone, and the only friend she needs is- then abruptly says her presentatie. The imagination stops and maya is looking at the water of the toilet and then gets up quickly and goes outside the bathroom and runs but then appears Coco as she went behind her. Coco regrets doing what she did and says that she shouldn't have done that, that that was horrible o algo. And also that they have to finish the presentation. Maya asks if she has a presentation, to which Coco answers that indeed, she has a presentation. Maya gets scared but Coco says that there's no need to worry as she made some improvements. Then they go downstairs. Maya appears presenting and Vera is sitting at a desk with a lollipop and says that that sounded a lot like something that Mymy would wrote, but since it wasn't racist then it it likely that it wasn't her. Vera says that Maya is approved but she has to improve her eye contact o algo. Maya is surprised and relived that she passed. The girls get outside the school and there are several scenes, maybe days after, one in a restaurant o algo. Then Maya is watching hentai and doesn't understand the end, then Coco knocks the door and Maya closes the window and Coco asks Maya if she wants to play a game with Mymy. Maya thinks about it and says that no, and Coco says good night o algo and they go to play to another room. Maya then questions her decision and just decides to listen to wall to hear them { That moment really got me, I almost cried the first time I saw it }.
So is this web cartoon a gem or brimmy slop? We think it's great for the following reasons: It has very high quality animation with cute colors, it captures perfectly social anxiety and awkwardness. Some bad points are its slow development and that there are many plot holes and many things that could have been done, e.g. solve Maya's problems o algo. { Seriously, there's something that I can't explain that I really like about it }

Some people say that Ongezellig took ideas from another series that with similar characteristics and also maybe from other things, but this always happens with everything. For example an author's song may took many ideas from many others, but then he created something really good. There's also the phrase of "good artists copy. great artists steal". So it probably means something like taking ideas from others that may not be as good and adding some original stuff and when you combine and create all of it then it becomes something great. Ongezellig combines good ideas and a good art style and a good plot and it became something that many people appreaciate and it's even very short. It's the same thing with music, someone may take many things from many people but the end result is incredible, that happens all the time with music in every place.
There is an artist that used to draw the characters with child-like proportions and in some suggestive poses. We think drawing that is based as hell, or at least neutral.
Ongezellig is as of 2026 relatively known compared to years ago { My brother told me that he even has found accounts with pfps from the series on instagram/tiktok }. There is also a community around it and some create animations etc. but tbh it's almost full of normies and retards, just avoid. Seriously, people like drummyfish and blitzdoughnuts have made much better things and are CC0. See also this drama.

I was curious about that and I searched the image and that's how I came upon this. Never saw it on any chan or wiki for some reason before }
