Not to be confused with the NEET exam from india.
NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) is a term used for people that are not in "formal" education, don't work or get money or have some business and are not in the military. Most people in this group don't stay NEETs for a long time, and among them are mothers and unemployed people e.g. they got fired. And others have the fortune of just living like this for a long time. The term could also more informally refer to people that have a lot of free time and don't use it in good ways, since you could be attending some "formal" school and still be wasting a lot of time and not making use of your time correctly. Based on the LRS ideas it should be used to help selflessly, and based on the current society rules you should use it to make money.
Is it ok to be a NEET? Depends a lot but generally it's ok. Nowadays there are so many zero-sum games that doing nothing is the same as doing them. Still, it's good if you can help people in a number of ways and avoid being a burden to others if you are.
