Cars are one of the worst things that you can own. To begin with to own a car you first need to have a valid plate which depending on your luck it can be hard or easy to obtain. It also needs maintenance which requires time and money, if it's not something you enjoy you'll going to suffer. Then if you want to go outside your city and go to another one you need certain permission for that. But then the country where you live in is governed by bad people :D If you need to go to another far away place use bicycles, buses or even run. If you're not capable of cycling or running most of the time that tells a lot about your life decisions, because even if a homeless man with severe mental issues could run dozens of kilometers a day there's no reason that a morbidly fat guy with no prior sicknesses or physical problems can't. On the other hand cars, pick up trucks etc. can be used to transport massive amounts of material.
As you may have heard somewhere there's the analogy of the car and car companies, where employees have to own a car to go to the car company to work there and earn money to survive, and they work there producing more cars to make people go buy them and make them work for the car company, so in the end they provide nothing to the economy and are producing useless stuff that damage the environment. It's a zero sum game, a fake economy.
